How To Create Table in Oracle.
Create Table Using Command Prompt.
Creating a table using Command Line Interface (CLI) in Oracle database
Creating table in oracle database using command line Interface is not that complex that we think.
I am using Windows Command prompt for demonstrating how to create table in oracle database using CLI. You can also use windows power shell or If you are working on Linux machine then you can use terminal.Steps are same in both.
Open up your command prompt and
set the SID
of your database over which you want to work.
I have only one database with SID orcl
C:\> set ORACLE_SID = orcl
Now connect to the schema in which you want to create your table such as HR.
For that write on your command prompt
C:\> sqlplus Schema_username / schema_password
For this tutorial I'll be using 'HR' schema thus
C:\> sqlplus hr/hr
After the last command you will be in our SQL prompt.
Now to Create a table we have to write a create table query
CREATE TABLE table1
After creating a table you can check the structure of your table by DESCRIBE TABLE
For that just write DESC
followed by your table name.
That's how we create table using command prompt in oracle database.
